Eruption at India's lone active volcano intensifies
Port Blair, Nov 11 (UNI) Eruption at India’s lone active volcano Barren Island near here has intensified.
The eruption was monitored by Coast Guard on November 7.
The Barren Island (Latitude 12.29°N, Longitude 93.85°E) is located 135 km ENE of Port Blair. Its exposed area was 10 sq km and it has a maximum elevation of 335 m above sea level.
''For the past 72 hours we have not seen any activity as we have not gone for patrolling. But it has definitely intensified. Last activity was seen on November 7 during our patrolling,'' said Deputy Commandant Pankaj Verma, Coast Guard Operations Officer.

(Volcano information is sometimes very late coming in if the volcano is far away from civilization.)
Peace to all.
